Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 2026

This policy explains what information FixMyThings collects, and why.

Who We Are

FixMyThings (fixmythings.com) is run by the Fixmythings Team, based in India. You can contact us at hello@fixmythings.com.

What We Collect

  • Your vote. When you vote on a fix, we store your answer, the date, and what you tried it on if you tell us.
  • A one-way hash. We make a hash from your IP address and browser details, so each person can vote once on a fix. We don’t store your IP address itself with your vote.
  • Your messages. If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.

You don’t need an account to use this site, and we don’t ask for your name or email to vote.

How We Use It

We use votes to show Fix Scores, to allow one vote per person, and to block abuse. We use emails to reply to you. We don’t sell your information.

Cookies and Browser Storage

We don’t set our own tracking cookies. After you vote, your browser keeps a small note so the page remembers you voted. It stays on your device, and you can clear it in your browser settings.

Services We Use

The site and our email are hosted by Hostinger, which may keep technical logs, including IP addresses, to run and protect its services. A Hostinger marketing script also loads on our pages. Hostinger’s own privacy policy applies to its processing.

Analytics and Advertising

We don’t run ads or website analytics at the moment. We use Google Search Console to see how our pages appear in Google. We will update this policy before adding ads, analytics or email newsletters.

Links to Other Websites

Our guides link to other websites, which have their own privacy policies.

How Long We Keep It

We keep votes while a fix is published. If a fix is deleted, its votes are deleted too. We keep emails only for as long as we need them.

Security

We use HTTPS across the site and store only the limited information described here. No website can guarantee complete security.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Email us to make a request. A vote is stored only with a hash, so we may not be able to match a vote to you.

Children

This site isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
